The routing restriction that was applied to Interstate 40 in western North Carolina has been lifted. This segment of roadway was originally closed in November 2009 due to a rockslide that buried the interstate. On 11/05/2009 PC*MILER Web Services users were alerted of the truck restriction that was applied to this road segment to close it and not be considered when generating mileage summaries, routes and reports.
Today, PC*MILER released an update to their Web Services by reopening this section of roadway in the routing database. All users using the PC*Miler routing tool will automatically be updated with this change.
